I flashed the beta which has resumed harmony functionality, thank god.
Does anyone know how to stop the hub auto updating? as I don't remember manually updating it which broke functionality in the first place.

make sure you enabled 'accept new hardware devices' before adding the harmony, or enabled it, disable/enable the harmony hardware. Confirmed. I am also still using the old method. It just works and I see no need to move to the new method. The old method is perfectly reliable but lacks the functionality to update domoticz if activity changes are initiated via the harmony remote.its not a big deal but it's a nice function. In ...

Domoticz should update the switch when using the remote. Take a look at the wiki page again. There is a script that checked every 10 min for an active activity.
