How is the hardware of the lock so far? I always have an issue with weak motors not being able to overcome issues with misaligned doors. I am trying to do something similar with my door system. But I am pretty new to trying to do this set ups without someone checking up on my work.
For me, I am having issues other than the signal. But I would try the voltage divider.

I am not surprised that the sesame smart lock seems to be underperforming, but at the very least the hardware itself is good so I guess that is not as bad as it could have been.
