How do you use a remote control in domoticz?

I bought three nexa outlets with a remote. In NetHomeServer I added the remote as a device and then made NetHomeServer receive the signal from the press of a button and then it controlled the outlet. There was no binding between the remote and the outlet.

I tried learning the remote under switches in domoticz and add it as a sub device to the outlet but that doesn't seem to work, nothing happens when I press a button on the remote.

In domoticz should I link the remote with the outlet and then the sub device thing just makes domoticz listen for that so that it can keep an correct state of if the outlet is on or off?

Or should domoticz be the one to actually control the state of the outlet when pressing a button on the remote?
