restore/repair domoticz installation

Post by trekker25 »

last night had issues with Fibaro Wallplugs. After resetting some Zwave plugs, seemed to that my OpenZwave part had been broken or something. None of the powered nodes would come alive, and the Openzwave log was buggy:

2015-12-08 10:10:51.262 Always, OpenZwave Version 1.3.550 Starting Up
2015-12-08 10:10:59.671 Error, Node011, ERROR: node presumed dead
2015-12-08 10:10:59.671 Always,
2015-12-08 10:10:59.671 Always, Dumping queued log messages
2015-12-08 10:10:59.671 Always,
etc etc

So my idea was to stop Domoticz. Delete everything in the Domoticz folder and copy files from 2 days ago back into Domoticz folder. (do a nightly rsync). Using WinSCP as user PI copied everything and rebooted the RPi.

But nothing from Domoticz is working again:
sudo service domoticz.sh start does not do anything, no text.
sudo service domoticz.sh status does not tell FAILED or SUCCESS

./updatebeta in the domoticz folder gives "Permission denied"

Did i break something with deleting/copying the files? I hope to
get it restored, as my latest image is from 6 weeks ago...

EDIT might be an permission/execute problem
How do i set the correct permissions/owner? all 777 would not be ok i guess. This seems like a problem when you rsync files to a NAS/Windows machine that you loose the correct settings!?

EDIT2
solved it hopefully:
sudo chmod +x updatebeta
sudo chmod +x domoticz.sh
and after that a
./updatebeta to update to latest version and hopefully have all permission correct again!
