Importing data

Post by PixelMagic »

Hi all,

I have been using Domotiga for several years now but noticed Domoticz, firstly because of the MySensors but very soon after that the whole look and feel.

Now I have decided that I will make the step to Domoticz and come to the point where I would really like to keep my historic data that I have in Domotiga. The switching data is not that important (nice to have) but mainly my electric and gas usage data and solar panel data I would like to keep and make use of the graphics that Domoticz generates.

Besides the Domotiga database I have a separate database where I have this data available, on daily base but also every xx minutes. The data starts in the middle of 2012, so there is more then three years. Loads of data.

Can someone give me some pointers on how to do this conversion from MySQL and what is the best way to use the data. I have some experience in php and MySQL, so the basics are there.

The second thing I have is the order of doing things to get the correct data to the correct devices. Domotiga is my main system at the moment and I have Domoticz running on a separate esxi server. The things that are accessible from shared sources are available in Domoticz already, but the power meters and Rfxcom can not be shared atm. I think I need the devices first before I can import any data, is this correct ?

Hi,

Can't answer all questions in detail, however the backup/restore function is basicly a SQLite database.
Perhaps you can make the devices first, backup so you can edit/add your previous data and then import the modified database.

How about your RFXcom and powermeters. I can not find how they are connected (didn't search also) but i have seen some posts with ser2net.
Basicly share your serial/usb and thus the device over the (inter)network. RFXcom is useble directly that way as a RFXlan in Domoticz.
