StellaZ valve setup

Finally managed to include my new StellaZ valve.
Eventually found an on-line quick-start guide that said to push/hold the button down for at least 10 secs, with the controller in include mode.

It worked for me!
Does anyone know how to set the thermostat operating mode to Direct Control?
Direct Control: BASIC SET 0xfe, THERMOSTAT MODE SET 0x1f
Can the device be made to stay awake for longer than 5 secs?

Hi, did you manage to set the device in direct valve mode? I also can't change it anywere

No, I never managed to do it.
Instead I just change the setpoint to 25 if I want it on, and 18 if off.
Or whatever the current thermostat setting is for the room, because the StellaZ is pretty good at working as a thermostatic valve!

I also adjust the setpoints, works great. Other question, how often do you need to change the batteries? Looks like every 2 or 3 months here.

I'd guess 2 months maximum for mine.
Usually mine tells me it wants new batteries by going into a deep sleep.
That's usually when the batteries are down to about 1.3V.
These half used batteries are then used in the room wall thermostats until they are really dead.

Ok, I thought it had something to do with my setup. I disabled polling and have a wake-up time of 5 minutes.

I think it's the 5 minute wake-up that we both use.
If the valve is left to its own devices <unintended pun> the batteries will likely last much longer.
Can you measure your batteries' voltages next time you change them?

Ok thanks!
For the battery's I use another approach. I bought several stepdown converters
http://dutchrfshop.nl/voedingen/mini-st ... erter.html. Just connect them to any old 12v or 5v adapter. With the potentiometer you can set the output voltage to 3v. I soldered the output wire's directly on the power lips on the stellaz where normally the battery's should make contact.

There is a new beta available today. In this beta release it should be possible to change the temp. mode. On my raspberry I only want to run a stable release, so i can't test it

I Tried the new beta on my raspberry, could not wait anymore.
After updating i have a new device with type "Thermostat Mode" It looks like this:
And it's possible to set a mode:
But it doesn't actually update the device itself:
It's still in comfort mode. Can somebody explain what it is i'm doing wrong?

The device will wakeup after xxx seconds (specified in the configuration parameters), after this, it will change the mode
Or you wakeup the device before, then change the mode
