RFID Reader to stop a PIR sensor from signals

I want to buy a RFID reader for my work garage.

Situation:

In my garage I have a PIR sensor. I walk there all the day, so the log file of this PIR sensor goes very fast to >5000 entries.

My idea is to buy a RFID card reader (key fob or numeric) to close the data line from this PIR sensor while I been in my garage. On the RFID reader must be a green (open) or a red (close) LED installed. My idea is t have the RFID reader outside and the electronics inside the garage.

I did a search on eBay and there is lot to buy. But what do I need and is safe to use? Does anyone else have this RFID readers and can help me to the right direction?

(iets met bomen en bos) :-)

You could also change the log to keep track of fewer entries :) I have set it to 7 days. I am not interested if a device was turned on/off three weeks ago or so...
Setup > Log history

Your idea sounds like a dirty workaround for a problem that is not really critical to be honest :P

Thanks. Maybe this is a better idea.

If I change the log setting for “Light/Switches” to, for example 2 days, than this setting works for ALL Switches.

It would be nice to implement a feature that you can set per Switch (in this case a PIR sensor) a separate LOG time to overrule the standard setting in the Log History for this particular Switch.

Does this pir sensor have a way to set the re-arm time out? Then it would only reset and trigger again xx seconds after last detection. My zwave motion detectors work that way. During the day I see only a few events; the time someone is in the room and moving is one event so to say.

There are a lot of substitute for your sensor how about magnetic card reader where you can just scan it then doors or any compartment will be open?
It's so much cooler than a sensor because most of the time sensor fails. https://www.lintechtt.com/. Try this you might find something here that might help you.
