[SOLVED] 2026.2 Shifted hour in graphs after deleting datapoint

Post by candrian »

Version: 2026.2
Platform: Debian Trixie on nuc7i5
Plugin/HW: P1 LAN, SMA inverter, HomeWizard Battery

Description:
After I delete a datapoint from the log/graph of a device (with shift-click), the graphs (all of them) are shifted with two hours. All dashboard and widgets hours are still OK.
Resetting the browser cache with ctrl-F5 solves it.
The 2 hour shift may be dependent on TZ - I'm CET.

First, resetting the browser cache has nothing to do with this.
There is no browser cache
Pressing F5 or ctrl-r would probably solve this as well.

Never the less, something to look into

I've found and fixed this one, well spotted, and thanks for the clear report.

It was not a browser cache issue and also not a server-side problem. When you shift-click to delete a datapoint, the code that builds the confirmation date temporarily changed a global setting of the chart library (Highcharts) and afterwards "restored" it to a value that was only correct for the very old Highcharts version we used back in 2020. Since the upgrade to Highcharts 12, that leftover setting silently forces every chart drawn afterwards into UTC — overriding the correct timezone the charts normally use. That's why all your graphs shifted by exactly your UTC offset (2 hours in CEST) after a delete, while the dashboard timestamps (which don't use Highcharts) stayed correct.

It also explains why a refresh "fixed" it: reloading the page resets that global setting. And no worries about your data — the delete itself always removed the correct datapoint, only the display of the graphs was affected afterwards.

The fix is in the development branch and will be included in the next beta.
