Domoticz tuya give an error

Post by jbakel »

Hello,

I use for a lot of year tuya with domoticz,
Now i change the login, because i have a new networl builded and now tuya says:
Error: Tuya Nieuw: handleThread: you cannot auth exceed once in 180 seconds line 184

When i enter the old name than everyting is alright.

What do i wrong.

Domoticz is running in the newest version on Linux Mint 22.

(for the dutch people..)
Ik gebruik al heel erg lang tuya samen met domoticz.
Ik heb nu een nieuw netwerk gebouwd met domoticz (nieuw huis), log in onder de nieuwe naam in de pluggin en krijg deze foutmelding:
Error: Tuya Nieuw: handleThread: you cannot auth exceed once in 180 seconds line 184

als ik inlog onder de oude naam is alles goed en werkt het weer, maar dan is dat het oude huis..

Wat doe ik verkeerd ?
Domoticz draait in de nieuwste versie op Linux mint 22

m.v.g.

Hi Jurgen,

Which plugin do you use, and what is the version number?

Check if you have two Tuya hardware entries in Domoticz using the same new account, or in the plugin directory if there are two directories with a version of the plugin. You can also try to disable the plugin, wait 3 minutes (180 sec), and enable it again. Then probably the error is gone.

i lost what i've installed, i don't know, when i watch on my computer 1 see a lot of domoticz directory's
and i don't know witch one is actual,
how can i see in linux mint witch on eis the start-up one?

How can i disable the plug-in ?

i find out what directory is the good one, i delete all the pluggins, and install tuyaha, unfortunly this one gives te problems, when i install yours, pip3 is not supported and the tuyaha requests is unable to install, i installed python 3,8 but when i ask for the version he said 2,7. something.
There is something weird on my system but i don't know what.

In the meanwhile i was bussy with finding out what's going wrong.
in installed python 3.8, whan i ask witch python is active linux says 3.8
i installed the donoticz-tuya... pluggin, and also the tuyaha witch is requested .

now i get this error
2026-04-24 15:15:54.952 Error: Tuya: (tuya) failed to load 'plugin.py'.
2026-04-24 15:15:54.961 Error: Tuya: Traceback (most recent call last):
2026-04-24 15:15:54.961 Error: Tuya: File "/domoticz/plugins/Domoticz-TUYA-Plugin/plugin.py", line 65, in <module>
2026-04-24 15:15:54.961 Error: Tuya: import tuyaha
2026-04-24 15:15:54.961 Error: Tuya: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'tuyaha'

i have no clue what is goiing wrong now, but i have a lot of frustrations about this, i runs for more than 3 years without problems, i make a new account and i get in trouble, when i use the other pluggin tuyaha this give the error what i ask, when i use the other one i have the problems what i put in this message.
somewhere is miss something. but what.......

Did you install the prerequisites for the plugin as defined in github?
https://github.com/Xenomes/Domoticz-Tin ... n#bullseye

To disable the plugin you simply open the Hardware Tab in Domoticz, Select the Tuya Hardware line for the plugin, flip the Enabled switch to off and update the hardware.

You are getting the hit as to what the problem is and it depends on how python and its modules are installed.
So you need to figure out whether you want to do the install of these modules "system wide" or in their own environment.
I am sure that you find many suggestions when you do a search on this error either with google or in chatgpt.
Did you ever consider using docker and not having those kind of issues?

I have a headless Ubuntu server installation running everything in Docker containers.
jbakel wrote: Thursday 23 April 2026 23:43 in installed python 3.8, whan i ask witch python is active linux says 3.8
Don't downgrade Python on a system; this is meant to cause a lot of problems.

What jvdz says: This is the personal choice you have to make when running on bare metal hardware.

Linux Mint 22 is based on Noble Numbat, whose release date is between Bookworm and Trixie. I think it is best to install:

Code: Select all

sudo pip3 install tinytuya cryptography>=3.1 pycryptodomex tinytuya -U
(--break-system-packages) is the personal choice.
jbakel wrote: Thursday 23 April 2026 23:43 pip3 is not supported
pip3 is supported but maybe not installed.

Hope that I gave you some directions in the right way!
