Hi because myscontroller is oneman show and full of bugs and egeoffrey dead I test domoticz.
Unfortunately this was short... did someone ever install this under ubuntu?
The install instructions are not up to date - https://wiki.domoticz.com/Linux .

assume ubuntu 25.04 on amd64.

- the instructions say
Ubuntu installation in terminal:
sudo bash -c "$(curl -sSfL https://install.domoticz.com)"
:::
::: You are root.
bash: line 108: test: /etc/os-release:25.04: integer expression expected
::: Verifying free disk space...
:::
::: Checking apt-get for upgraded packages.... done!
:::
::: Your system is up to date! Continuing with Domoticz installation...
::: Checking for apt-utils... installed!
::: Checking for whiptail... installed!
::: Checking for git... installed!
::: Checking for curl... installed!
::: Checking for unzip... installed!
::: Checking for wget... installed!
::: Checking for sudo... installed!
::: Checking for cron... installed!
::: Checking for libudev-dev... installed!
::: Checking for libssl1.1...

This is the end.

Installed? No...

sudo service domoticz.sh start
Failed to start domoticz.service: Unit domoticz.service not found.
honza@u2504:~$ find /usr -name "*domoticz*"

honza@u2504:~$ find . -name "*domoticz*"
./domoticz_linux_x86_64.tgz

I have to ask did someone test the script?

You forgot to read the note on libssl1 on that wiki page :)
So you need to install libssl1 first. See the instructions in topic viewtopic.php?t=43111
The next upcoming stable will be fully compatible with latest Ubuntu installs as it uses libssl3

You can also use the docker install, no need to install extra module but you need to install docker.... https://wiki.domoticz.com/Docker

Hello waltervl, I am happy you are here and thank you for the help.

In fact the libssl3 is installed already.

honza@u2504:~$ sudo apt install libssl3
[sudo] password for honza:
Note, selecting 'libssl3t64' instead of 'libssl3'
libssl3t64 is already the newest version (3.4.1-1ubuntu3).
libssl3t64 set to manually installed.

Some other ideas?

You are installing the stable version and that currently needs libssl1. Libssl3 does not support libssl1 so you need to install it on your system.

Got it, I downloaded the package manually and installed:
wget http://security.debian.org/debian-secur ... _amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i libssl1.1_1.1.1w-0+deb11u3_amd64.deb

installation fixed.
