Building my new electrical network for smartswitch/Smart bulb/Circuit breaker

Post by Louistiti »

Hi everyone,

I'm currently building my electrical network in a new house that is actually a barge/boat.
I had nice experiences with smart circuit breaker to get my consumption, switch of the light to control or smart bulb to change the color I enjoyed all.

But now that I'm buidling my home I would like to do something smart, I know that if I put a smart switch on a smart circuit breaker with a connected bulb I might have some issue: using the switch would disconnect the bulb...

I guess there is pro and cons,
Bulb might be good in a rental place and good for control of the light color.
Smartswitch might be nice for renovation ?
Circuit breaker should be included in construction?

What is the common standard in the construction of new building? I cannot think so far about the final devices I'll use but I know it's gonna be maximum connected and I want to make the right choice now doing construction

All my power supplied devices are on wifi and the other on batteries are Zigbee.

Thanks for your advices

Insert/smartswitches are used when you want to switch not smart devices (eg standard bulbs, blinds etc).
If you you want to switch smart devices use remote switches eg for Zigbee https://zigbee.blakadder.com/remotes.html
If you want to switch a wifi bulb with a zigbee remote switch you probably need to do some scripting to get the switch event and forward it to the bulb. Or use domoticz groups or scenes.
Domoticz running on Udoo X86 (on Ubuntu)
Devices/plugins: ZigbeeforDomoticz (with Xiaomi, Ikea, Tuya devices), Nefit Easy, Midea Airco, Omnik Solar, Goodwe Solar
