Hi,

I am running DZ in docker for some time now and no problems.
I was looking at the FW of my receiver and wanted to update to the latest one.

Am I going crazy or is there no option to update the FW of the RFXCOM device in DZ Docker ?

Firmware update option has been removed on request as this was not working 100% and could cause some dangerous issues.
Therefor you just need to update via the RFXFlash application

will dig up an old rpi and just install a copy of DZ to do the upgrade there..

Seems you are drawing the wrong conclusion here.... Updating firmware by Domoticz can cause dangerous issues (brick?)!!

As far as I know:
After downloading the manager to a computer, upgrading the firmware and configuring is possible if you connect the device to a laptop.

Saves time I guess

Would be, but I have either Linux or MacOS, so no windows....
And windows emulator on Mac is not working for this (tried and failed)

So just install a quick DZ on an older RPI...

You should be able to use wine to run the RFXFlash utility.
You can also install a fresh windows copy and use it for free the first month(s)
For mac, you can use parallels

interesting to know why to update.
can you inform?
