Possibility adding the Mitsubishi heavy industry M-air WIFI module available in Domotics.

@all,
I only have one request using the M-air application on Domotics.
I owe three airco units in my home. All Mitsubishi have industrie models.
The first in my living works flawlessly with Domotics via the airconwithme application.
My second unit in my bedroom still has no connection with Domotics.
My third unit in the attic works with the application M-air which isn’t known by Domotics.
I bought online another WIFI module which was supposed to be the one with the airconwithme application. However, when I opened the package it appeared not to be the module I expected. The webshop won’t accept that I return my not opened package. I didn’t even installed it so I must set it up with the M-air application which doesn’t work with Domotics.
Is there a chance that the M-air application will come available on Domotics in the near future. This would be really nice.

Hi,
Is this unit the same as the one described at
https://community.home-assistant.io/t/m ... air/447917?

Hi,
Thanks for the fast response. Indeed, the module I use is the WF-RAC.
I have already one in use but this module doesn’t work in Domotics. The dealer doesn’t want to take it back although I specifically ordered the previous module which work with the app airconwithme although the package is not even opened / installed so I hope it will be possible in due time that these units will also work in domoticz.
Kind regards
Franzel

I have one very old Mitsu Heavy machine which I control with a Broadcom IP>IR sender. works well but not feedback if you use the remote as well.

Hi @franzel ,
Indeed, the module I use is the WF-RAC.
Alright, that is fine.
I always say, if it can be done in Home Assistant or any other Home automation platform, it can also be done in Domoticz.
However, you can not expect that all equipment, available around the world, will function in Domoticz out of the box.
So, as it is not supported (yet), you have to make it yourself.
I have already one in use but this module doesn’t work in Domotics
If I understand it correctly, now you have 2 devices, that do not work in Domoticz.
I hope it will be possible in due time that these units will also work in domoticz.
That will depend on the programming skills
But serious, most pieces of equipment can be connected to Domoticz.
Most readers of this forum will probably know that my tool for this kind of tasks will be Node-RED.
See:
https://nodered.org/
Fortunately someone already created a custom node for the WF-RAC.
See:
https://flows.nodered.org/node/@program ... con-rac-wf
These two custom nodes can probably be combined in a flow I made some years ago for a user with a Haier AC
See:
https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... ilit=Haier
or the one, I made for another user for a Panasonic AC:
See:
https://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopi ... =panasonic
If you feel, this is the way to go for, I expect from you, that
- You install on your device Node-RED
- You read the basic documentation, so that you can export and import flows.
- Do some debugging and testing
- Read the Haier thread, so that you know how this will work
The process to create a complete working flow for Haier took about 1 month, but a lot of thing have already been done.
Let me know.
Regards

Did you also tried with the native hardware "Mitsubishi WF RAC Airco with LAN (HTTP) interface"?
Use it myself

@firewizard
Unfortunately my programming skills are zero so I can’t be of any help to create a plugin for this hardware.
@gizmocuz
I guess this WT-RAC module can be found in my network environment but apart from this I have no clue what to do with it. I will try to discover whether there is some kind of webinterface.

if it works with the smart-air app the native hardware should work..
It is on my home with 2x both factory wifi and 1x "addon" wifi. (2022 model)
- Maybe there are more versions of the wifi module and yours is different ?
- Maybe your wifi client is in isolated mode ?
note : some devices only support one(1) external controller ( app or domoticz) at a time.
So try when you app is closed and the connection is timed-out

@ gizmocuz
Is there a place where I can read about the "Mitsubishi WF RAC Airco with LAN (HTTP) interface" ?
I am exploring it now with my HI Mitsubishi Airco that has a factory WiFi module installed. I have some questions. For instance how I can start or stop the airco with this software? setting movement of slats works. Also found some errors in the log:
2025-03-11 09:06:43.648 Error: Airco Woonkamer hardware (21) thread seems to have ended unexpectedly
2025-03-11 09:06:57.651 Error: Airco Woonkamer hardware (21) thread seems to have ended unexpectedly
2025-03-12 08:08:14.003 Error: Airco Woonkamer: Error executing HTTP command (getAirconStat)
2025-03-12 11:08:33.338 Error: Airco Woonkamer: Error executing HTTP command (getAirconStat)
Thx

There are two native hardware options in Domoticz for the Mitsubishi Airco's (depending on the model you have)
I am also using the WF RAC
For each aircon you get multiple sensors in Domoticz (a bunch of switches that lets you control on/off, swing, tilt etc)
And a setpoint and kWh sensor
So, you just press on the switch (on) button of the Aircon and it will turn on/off, as simple as that.
Of course you can add timers, setpoint schedules etc etc

What if these "simple as that" functions don't work in my setup? Did you seen my log snippets? The log isn't saying much to me. How can i further troubleshoot why things are not working as intended?

Do you have the "WF RAC" option? (new models)
If yes, did you enter the correct IP address? And this also assumes you can operate the aircon with the 'Smart M Air' application
Or do you use aircon with me? This is the other Mitsubishi hardware you can use in Domoticz

Answer: Yes I have a brandnew Mitsubishi HI with a works WiFi module. (See below)

If yes, did you enter the correct IP address? And this also assumes you can operate the aircon with the 'Smart M Air' application
Answer: I gave the aircon a reserved ip adres in my router so it won't change and double checked that it is the right one and yes I can operate it with the 'Smart M-Air" application. That works but i don't like that app.
Who can I talk to about the functionality of this plugin?

You can talk to the author (me....

Maybe better to talk directly with me on our Slack channel

There was no issue. Accept new hardware/devices was disabled, causing the hardware to not be able to create new devices
