Scene doesn't trigger all lights

Post by Bauke »

Hello support,
I have a problem that a Scene doesn't trigger all lights unfortunately. When the scene gets triggered (via a double click of a switch or via the Domoticz app), just some of the lights are turning on or off (depending of which Scene is triggered). The lights that will be triggered is very random.

First I had Domoticz running on an i7 computer with an Aeotec Z-stick. This problem occurred from the beginning. Now I’m running Domoticz on a raspberry Pi 5, but the problem remains.
All the lights are in a range of 4 meters from the Aeotec Z-stick. I also added an Aeotec Z-Wave Range Extender just to make sure.

Does anybody have encountered this issue before and are there any solutions? Thanks in advance for the reactions.

I’m running Domoticz version 2024.4 with Build Hash: 731719420

You should get switch messages for all devices in the Domoticz Log (menu setup - Log) when you enable this scene. Do you see those?
You mention Zwave, do you use the old deprecated OpenZwave integration or the new Zwave-JS-UI with MQTT? if latest you could also check in Zwave-JS-UI and MQTT Explorer if all devices get their switch commands.

Thanks for your reply. I make use of the Aeotec Z-stick 5+ USB stick.

Underneath you will find the log:. I looks like all of them are activated..

Then it seems a Zwave issue then. These commands do not always reach the nodes. It looks like you use the old OpenZwave integration. You should think about migration to Zwave-JS-UI https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Zwave-JS-UI as Openzwave will be deleted from Domoticz in the near future.

I also see a lot of messages like
2024-04-10 13:34:35.549 Z-Wave USB adapter: Usage (Unknown)
That 'Unknown' seems strange.

I've had similar experience with openzwave.

Since switching to zwave js ui it's way better.
Also check in to secure inclusion. S0 causes a lot of overhead.

Switches don't need security imo. Reaction time is much better without security.
