RELAY-NET-V5.9 LAN 8 channel relay and binary input card

Post by clements63 »

Hello all,

I have 3 relay and Input cards in V5.7 whci works perfectly with Domotics.
And I have 2 relay and Input cards in V5.9 but the Domoticz plugin seems not adapted : input and relay status are not updated in Domoticz. Do you know how to configure Domoticz please ?

Thanks for your feedback

It would help if you give a little bit more information about the plugin. It does not ring a bell for me.

Did you use the same IP adres and port number for both cards?

I see that it is a build in hardware gateway: https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz/bl ... layNet.cpp

In the source code some instructions are given to test the relay card. Are they working in your relay card with higher version?

The source code is basically unchanged for 7 years, later only some general code refractoring done that should not have influenced the working of the integration.

I think this is related to another brand of relay cards. But perhaps they are compatible....

Here after some details about the card :
https://github.com/mgx0/ZMRN0808-V5

User manual here : https://github.com/mgx0/ZMRN0808-V5/blo ... Manual.pdf

Same firmware for 5.8 and 5.9

Commands sent by Domoticz OK
But status form the card to domoticz is failed

According other forums (jeedom for example), it could be linked to the TCP

Try to change port number in Dz and in the Relay options (And the port number must match in Dz and in the relay settings).

For each relay its own port.

If I use an other port than 1234, I have the following log :
2024-03-26 09:33:00.229 Status: RelaisIP_4: 5-second poller started (192.168.1.94)
the relay card is not connected with Dz

Instead of :
2024-03-26 09:34:16.483 Status: RelaisIP_4: 5-second poller started (192.168.1.94)
2024-03-26 09:34:16.485 Status: RelaisIP_4: Connected to Relay Module 192.168.1.94
Dz can send request to the card

Did you also change the port number on Relay?

it's not possible to update the port in relay

in Dz, if I configure an other port, the communication is OK.

I think the Dz pluging is not adapted to this card version, but I don't know how to find it and change it.

So the board is has firmware 5.9 running and this could be the problem by being to new for the plugin..

The github has the 5.8 hexfile; you could try to downgrade the firmware by flashing in this 'older' firmware. (in the readme it's mentioned.. )
or maybe it is possible with this flashtool to make a copy of your 5.7 firmware and flashing this onto the newer board..

i would suggest to take some screenshots of the settings before trying.

As for a different approach; I don't know if it's a possible workaround to run a second plugin in Domoticz with different ip but same port for the newer board?

Tool Flash Magic not allow to perform a backup of the old firmware on the old card to upload it in the new card :(

Update the plugin in Dz seems a better option but I don’t know how do it

These request are working fine. Only the updated status of input and relay are not received by Domoticz

I have similar relays. But there is another plugin in Domoticz and broader settings.
Each relay operates on its own UDP port, otherwise the status is not returned either.
So I think if you can't change the port settings, there's no way you can make it work.

I recently also used the LAN ethernet 8 channel realay and binairy inputchannel.
I only knew I could hook up to these relays by default (after reset) @ 192.168.1.166
From there I set the parms to my domoticz app.
First one went OK as expected
Second did not create new devices.
I found the solution by changing port# 12345 > 12341

Maybe same solution for this problem.

it's not possible to update the port in relay
Why not? Just go to website being the ip# you set for the relay in domoticz hardware
