tuya zigbee devices

Post by BartSr »

Just started with zigbee. z2m
I wonder if the Tuya zigbee devices as on Ali can be used without using the Chinese servers.

Yes, look into the Z2M device database for the compatibility https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/supported-devices/

It is by the way the tuya zigbee bridge and the Tuya app that makes connection to external servers. Zigbee device itself normally have no wifi so cannot connect to the internet.

Ikea zigbee devices work really well also, apart from bulbs and switches they now have a PIR sensor and a door contact, both of which use an AAA rechargeable battery which is also a bonus as you don't have to keep buying the CR2032 coin cells !
