No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
Hello commuity,
I have recently switcth from OZW to ZWAVEJS UI, system is working fine after some time but I still have something wierd on MQQT Auto Discovery UI in Domoticz (latest release from 30/08/23).
Actually when I go to "Setup", there is no device listed at all, again all the rest is working perfectly, so I'm wondering what I have missed in terms of configuration on ZWaveJS UI itself or somewhere else, some help is welcome.
Thanks,
woddou

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
Under setup button on mqtt AD only device setup features will be shown if the mqtt device is supporting it. So if your zwave devices have no specific setup options the list will be empty.
The zwave devices should automatically show up in Domoticz menu setup - devices like the rest of the devices.

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
Thanks waltervl, among my 48 zwave devices (Qubino, Fibaro Aeotec...) I'm sure they have specific configuration option which are by the way showned in ZwaveJS UI, is it such configuration which are supposed to be listed per device under Setup on mqqt AD ?
Do you have a screenshot of what appears under Setup ?
Just trying to understanding if something is wrong or if, like you are suggesting, this is normal behavior.

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
Yes, I did follow the instructions on this page to setup the whole thing.
What is really wierd is that everything else is running somehow smoothly after migrating from OpenZwave (with some fine tuning for sure).
This is not a real issue since all devices configuration are available on ZWaveJS so far with even more capabilities but my concern is that if this Setup portion of MQTT AD is not working properly it might not be the only one, so just want to make sure evrything works as per the book to avoid future surprises.
For now I will enable debug message on Domoticz and see if I can find anything while it is running and as well as start up... If you have any other suggestion there are welcome.
Again thank you.

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
You better check with MQTT Explorer if the zwave-js devices have "number" devices published. As these are imported as Setup devices in Domoticz. Other device setup options within Zwave-Js user interface are not published to MQTT as far as I know so Domoticz cannot see them.

Just install and run MQTT Explorer, how do I check if as suggested "number" devices are published ?

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
In the topic homeassistant there should be a subtopic number that relates to one of your other devices that is in subtopic sensor, binary etc

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
There is no subtopic called number in any of the devices, is that normal ?
By the way my prefix on both Domoticz qnd ZWaveJS is domoticz.

In your setup it should be a number entry just under domoticz on the same level as binary_sensor.

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
It looks like the devices configuration are under zwave not domoticz in my setup. Prefix domoticz is set on "Home Assistant" menu and "zwave" in Zwave menu item.
On Domoticz I have enter "domoticz" prefix in MQTT AD configuration.
Does it look right or did I make any mistake/confusion setting and using prefix ?

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
It does not matter as long as you have the same settings in the mqtt ad gateway.
But if you unfold zwave or Domoticz you could see a number device. If not, your devices do not publish it and domoticz cannot use them as setup possibility in the gateway setup menu.

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
Unfolding here is what I have, no "number" device as per say
Quite wierd that not a sngle device among the ones I have from different brands is not publishing any configuration. Is it due to a specific setup on ZwaveJS ?- waltervl

Thanks for trying, we never know somebody might end up with the same type of issue and find a solution for it...

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
Digging a bit more...
Here is the difference for one device on ZwaveJS UI Control Panel.
Under "Node": Under "Home Assistant": So all configuration entities are missing in "Home Assistant" so no surprise that the corresponding topics are not present when I look on MQTT Explorer, therefore no way for the MQTT AD to see this configuration and list them under "Configuration".
Now the question is why these node configuration entities are present under "Node" and not under "Home Assistant" on control panel. For sure this is the same for every single device.
Could you please check on your system and let me know if you have the same or if these node configuration are present on both menu.
i'm still suspecting ZwaveJS UI configuration issue, so if you can share your MQQT, Gateway and Hom Assitant settings that will help me to compare and figure out if it is coming from configuration.
Thanks.

Re: No device listed under "Setup" on MQTT Auto Discovery
Nope, no further update from anybody on this.
In between I have setup from scratch a new RPI for another home and I have the same behaviour nothing is showing up on AD "Setup" despite this fresh install, not sure now what should appear under that docmentation is quite thin with nothing related to it even looking at the web.
