local AI voice control with Whisper?#

what about getting local voice control working by running a local server (with GPU?) that runs open AI Whisper?

no more sending audio to Google or Amazon

Nice, but you need a really big graphic card with a lot of memory.
Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

I read "currently works reasonably well". I translate that in "there is still a lot of work to do"
I think that to get those kind of AI working you should have a lot of processing power and a decent amount of video memory.
Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.

I like the idea of freedom for command strings syntax. One can make more naturel sounding commands. But English is still the leading language.
