IKEA Fyrtur, Tredansen and Praktlysing

Post by kris »

Hi. I’m thinking about picking up some IKEA motorised roller blinds. Specifically the Fyrtur and the Praktlysing.

Has anyone gotten them to work reliably with ZiGate and Zigbee for Domoticz?
I need to be able to control the blinds both from Domoticz and with the included remote.

I’ve had a lot of trouble pairing the Trådfri outlet and remote with Domoticz. I still can’t seem to get both Domoticz and the remote working at the same time and have moved on to other alternatives.

The blinds are very interesting and I hope it can work out.

I’d appreciate any advice I can get before buying.

Thanks!

Seems to be supported by Zigate/ZfD plugin: https://zigbeefordomoticz.github.io/wik ... adfri.html

I personally have no issues pairing and using Ikea zigbee stuff with my Zigate. I have no IKEA blinds so cannot comment on that.

I had some IKEA bulbs that came with a remote that I could not pair with both zigbee2mqtt and the included remote.

That should work with zigbee groups but I do not know how this works in Zigbee2mqtt, with Zigate/ZfD it works.

My IKEA bulbs work fine with zigbee2mqtt / Domoticz and the remote, put the bulbs in a group in z2m and then bind the remote to the group.

Thanks.
I am mostly interested in the blinds and how well they work.

So… I picked up a Fyrtur blind to test it for myself.
I can get it to pair with Domoticz but the percetage control won’t work. I can see the level change as the blinds are moving but I can’t set a percentage from Domoticz.

The IKEA Trådfri remote control setup is convoluted with a mandatory repeater involved and as a result I can’t get both Domoticz and the remote working in tandem.

I tried pairing all components with my ZiGate but couldn’t get a group going.

Still interested if anyone actually got this crap working.

Edit: I’m running Zigbee for Domoticz. It works great with most other, non Ikea Zigbee stuff.
If anyone got these blinds and remotes working reliably with Zigbee2mqtt I’d consider migrating to that.

@kris, I would just do a small/quick test with Zigbee2MQTT anyway. It works great and love the firmware update option. Works with the native MQTT Autodiscovery hardware in Domoticz

I recently installed a fyrtur blind and had some issues getting the state updated in domoticz (using zigbee2mqqt), but this is partially fixed (as explained in viewtopic.php?t=39084).

I had to reset all devices and include them in the right order (first the included repeater, then blinds and then the remote).
I confirm I can still use the remote directly by setting a bind in the remote settings as shown below. The destination has to be your fyrtur blind.

That’s great!
I’ll give Zigbee2MQTT a try then.
Can you also set a level (percentage) from Domoticz?

Thanks!

Yes, setting a level works and even the stop button when using blinds + stop.

If you are running Domoticz beta then the ZfD plugin perhaps need an update for changed Blinds behavior. Are you running stable6 or beta6?
Changing to zigbee2mqtt will be a much bigger change and I do not know what the level of support of Zigate for zigbee2mqtt is. Seems to be experimental.

I remember working on that issue with one guy. It was not straight forward as you need also to use the repeater.
Some stuff were possible and some other not.

I think the guy documented what was possible and what was not.

I followed the steps and I can pair all devices to Zigbee for Domoticz but I can't make the group.
I get "No devices found" when I try to add from the device list.
Updated to version 6.3.003 (stable) but no difference.

Yes, but the Device List is empty.

In Zigate Web UI Management->Group Management, press “Add New Group” and select blind(s) into group. Press “Validate” and group is created. Refresh Web UI page to see created group, and note “Group ID”

Ain't that the truth...
Seems like I'm not enough of a linux/docker guy to figure this one out. I can't find a basic enough guide for me to even install Zigbee2MQTT correctly.

With the latest beta I can get the remote buttons to register correctly in Domoticz.
From here, I should at least be able to script the desired behavior. But I still can't send a set level (percentage) for the blinds from Domoticz :/
