[Zigbee for Domoticz] - Annoucement

Post by pipiche »

Today is a big day for us, because we are releasing a new stable version for the Plugin Zigbee for Domoticz.
It allows non-ZiGate coordinators to be connected, and provides a numbers of enhancements, new compatible devices and fixes. (Check the release-notes for more informations)

Without any impact for the ZiGate users, this version will allow users of Texas Instrument CCxxx chips, users of Silicon Labs chips to use the plugin without any middleware/broker in between. And we are currently developing the support of the deConz (ConBee II /RasBee coordinator).

The Plugin has been certified with Electrolama Coordinators like zzh ( CCxxxx chip set), and Elelabs Coordinators for Silicon Labs based chips. A big thanks for their support

In addition, @JP_Keros has done some extensive work to migrate the wiki to get a Web based browsing experience , providing a better user experience.

To benefits from that release make sure to follow the procedure to switch from stable5 to stable6 as described https://zigbeefordomoticz.github.io/wik ... ion-6.html

If you are interested to have the list of supported coordinators, the best is to use the following links from the zigpy-radio libraries.

For TI’s Z-Stackhttps://github.com/zigpy/zigpy-znp#hardware-requirements
For Silicon Labs or EmberZNet based Zigbee https://github.com/zigpy/bellows#hardware-requirement

A big thanks to the fellow developers @deufo, @badz whom make this release possible , and big thanks to the support provided by the guys from the Zigpy project, and also my gratitude to @dnpwwo whom have made the Python Framework a reality and give us this possibility

Thanks for the announcement.
At this momemnt I am using a Electrolama zzh USB stick with a zigbee2mqtt plugin. Is it possible to change to the plugin Zigbee for Domoticz and what would be the advantage of this change

Yes you can change to Z4D, you'll have however to repaire all of your devices. The main benefits is that you won't need any brokker in between

The MQTT Broker was already installed for WiFi Tasmota devices and other purposes, so there was no extra only Z2M

I'm not a use of Z2M so I cannot really comment. In case you have a spare Dongle you can give a try and see ;-)
In all cases, I'm not here to sale anything, so have a great end of week-end :-)

Excellent news! Let me know if you need help with testing of deConz-support.

Thank you for your work!

@JBN , ok I'll keep you posted on our progress on deConz. I would say that is up and running with some limitation (and we especially are waiting for an update from our zigpy friends)
