Are you using a decent power supply?
Are you using a decent SD card?
Have you thought of transferring the filesystem to a USB memory stick - or better still, an SSD?
Are you making regular backups, to avoid reconfiguring after it crashes?
Looking for a better solution than a raspberry pi.

Re: Looking for a better solution than a raspberry pi.
I have been running Domoticz on a raspberry pi 3b+ for over 3 years without one single crash. I put this down to 2 things, firstly a descent power supply with batttery backup fed in via the header on the pi and not the micro usb port and secondly I do not and have never used an sd card, I use one of these :
https://www.amazon.co.uk/DollaTek-expan ... ref=sr_1_9
with a 64gb msata ssd in it, this is more than enough space to cope with all the log files and the wear levelling means the card will last a long time. Backing up is as easy as writing the raspi image, shut down the Pi, unplug the loop back plug that connects it to the pi and plug in the supplied usb cable and use Win32 Disk Imager to take an image of the entire ssd.
One important factor, ssd controllers create a lot of "noise" around 2.4Ghz so connecting you pi via ethernet is a better option and if you are using any sort of zigbee dongle use a usb extension lead so you can move it a few feet away from the pi or you may have issues pairing your devices or they may randomly lose conection.

Re: Looking for a better solution than a raspberry pi.
To add my perspective, there are multiple threads already on system stability if you search the forum. Both for fixing crashes as well as changing hardware and what options people use.
I have used pi's for as long as they have existed. There can be many causes for 'crashes' but it wuld help if you state what you consider to be a crash since it's a bit of a generic term. If you refer to your storage then you have not indicated anything in terms of your system in your footer so there's no way to determine what could be a cause.
Power can be an issue but so can the SD card (if you use an SD card). There are heavy duty SD cards on the market which are (pretty much) as good as SSD drives but that won;t help if indeed your power supply is not up to the task (which you can find by searching for "undervoltage" in dmesg).
If you provide a better overview of what issues you are facing then we can be of better help

ps: I have not had a single "crash" for as long as I can remember

Re: Looking for a better solution than a raspberry pi.
Running without hickups on a Raspberry Pi 4, with USB 3.0 to SSD controller (ASmedia type) and a small SSD, official power supply, Buster OS.
Zigbee USB stick, P1 meter USB, rflink Arduino, ethernet and Wifi. Well ventilated case (3d printed), placed in 'meterkast', never seen overheating/throttling. Uptime months. Only restarts if a plugin needs an update. I do make regular Domoticz and database backups, so reconfiguring may be quick if required in case of emergency.
Also have a NAS based upon this hardware configuration (OpenMediaVault) and just as stable.
I see no added value for myself for expensive heavy duty SD cards, nor expensive controllers to .M2 etc. It wont hurt but it may not contribute to stability.

Re: Looking for a better solution than a raspberry pi.
I run a Synology NAS with a Domoticz docker image and a other setup with Domoticz on a Raspberry 4. Both are stable. But on the Raspberry I have added a realtimeclock, a special sd card and replaced the stock powersupply with a bigger one. Both systems run stable.
It sounds a bit silly to change your whole system if you don't know what is wrong. Perhaps a script of a piece of hardware is causing crashes. When you use these in your new system you could have the same problems over again. Better first figure out why your system is crashing from time to time and go from there.....

Just adding that I already had a 24/7 always on Windows 10 machine so I went with Domoticz running on it as a service. It's rock solid stable. No crashes, hangs, or issues.
