Xiaomi gateway zigbee, Bluetooth, wifi integration

Post by tonbor »

Bought the latest global xiaomi zigbee 3.0 gateway:
https://www.xiaomiproducts.nl/nl/xiaomi ... UZEALw_wcB
Saw a hardware plug in domoticz, so piece of cake, I know nothing is a piece of cake. Well with HA it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQVSFISC9CE

Why can I not integrate this gateway with domoticz, not at all?

Only hacks in the wiki for old models and anciënt mi home apps.

Anybody got it working with domoticz?

Well Zigbee is also very popular but not with a Xiaomi gateway as they tend to have all kind of hacks, change firmware etc.
You can buy a Zigate, Deconz or Zigbee2MQTT stick and connect your zigbee devices with those. See also https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Zigbee#Zi ... n_Domoticz

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm using 2 Xiaomi gateways (v2) in my setup and probably one died so I'm looking for an alternative if I want to keep using my door contacts, temp. sensors and switches.

My setup has a Philips Hue bridge, Sonoffs (Tasmota) - MQTT and Xiaomi devices.

Do I need such a Zigbee device and can I then remove the Xiaomi gateway(s) ?

Yes if those Xiaomi devices are Zigbee device's you can buy a Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB (€30 on Amazon), and use that as controller for the devices.
The Sonoff can be connected to Domoticz with ZigbeeforDomoticz plugin or zigbee2mqtt (Autodiscover or plugin).

Thanks,

the rest is pretty straight forward then? Transferring the devices from the gateway to the Sonoff Zigbee I mean?
I have the Domoticz Autodiscovery of Tasmota devices activated, so for this I also need another plugin?

If you are already using mqtt Autodiscover you can use zigbee2mqtt.
You will need to pair all the devices to the new zigbee stick. New Domoticz devices will be created. You can replace the old with the new with the standard Domoticz replace function (in device widget - edit)

Well, I'm using the Tasmota auto discover only so I might have to activate the MQTT Autodiscover you mentioned.
A SONOFF ZigBee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus, EFR32MG21 will do? No need to have another specific type? And no need to regularly update this stick (don't fix if it isn't broken)?

The stick is fine, no need to update regularly.

Thanks. The Sonoff stick has arrived but first I have to make a full backup of the USB drive because it took me several restarts to get Domoticz running again without any errors. I expect the USB drive to be faulty so I’d like to make a backup of the whole USB drive to a similar one before proceeding.
