Zigbee2mqtt/CC2652R problem

Post by Sarcas »

I bought a ZZH! stick and flashed it according to the instructions from the Electrolama website. I used the TI flash utility and the latest firmware CC2652R_coordinator_20210708.hex. The utility reported a successful flash. The next step is connecting it to my rPi, checking which port it uses and " edit your Zigbee2mqtt configuration.yam". But the stick seems dead after putting it in the rPi4. I rebooted it, updatet it, but

Code: Select all

ls -l /dev/serial/by-id
just gives

Code: Select all

total 0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Aug  8 16:03 usb-0658_0200-if00 -> ../../ttyACM0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Aug  8 16:03 usb-1a86_USB_Serial-if00-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB1
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 13 Aug  8 16:03 usb-RFXCOM_RFXtrx433_A129KUAH-if00-port0 -> ../../ttyUSB0
I flashed it again to be sure i did everything correctly, but no changes. I have no idea how to proceed.
Anyone?

Thanks,

S.

I also have the zzh stick which runs fine. Not at home atm but will try to help later.

Unplug and plugin again and see what the last line are from

Code: Select all

dmesg
You can see if the stick is recognized and what the port is.

Correct. dmesg is your first check.
You can also check what devices are connected with lsusb (or lsusb -v for verbose)

If The TI utility works, then the stick is allright.
But check it again in Windows Device manager and confirm it is a 340 with usb id's 1a86 7523

Then power down your Pi (plug and play is not always a success in Linux!) , insert the stick check, power up
and check with:
lsusb

you should see at least something like

Bus 001 Device 003: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics HL-340 USB-Serial adapter

The 340 serial USB adapter is supported in current Raspberry Pi OS. What version are you running? If older you might have to install the 340 driver.
Or use another USB port and try again, there are 4. Power down and up to be sure.
Raspberry Pi 4, SSD, RFlink, P1 Smart Meter. Many Zigbee devices CR2562 USB stick. Bresser via Weather Underground

Unplugging and plugging-in kills the rPi4:

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi4:~ $ dmesg
-bash: /usr/bin/dmesg: Input/output error
pi@raspberrypi4:~ $ sudo reboot
-bash: sudo: command not found
pi@raspberrypi4:~ $
i have to cut the power to get it to reboot.

then I get

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi4:~ $ dmesg

Ha, I see that one!

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi4:~ $ lsusb

After editing my

Code: Select all

configuration.yaml
with the correct data found above, I finally could execute

Code: Select all

npm ci --production
without errors. Time for the next steps :)

Thanks all!

And now make your device(s) persistent, otherwise they might get an other port assigned at the next reboot.
