KD-101 (KD101) smokedetectors
Hello. To my surprise I detected one of my KD-101 (KD101) detectors appearing in Domoticz, great!! This was a positive surprise as I am about to get rid of my expensive home alarm, and have been searching for a way to get messages on my mobile in case of smoke/fire while away from my house.
I have, for now, 3 KD-101, paired together, and the question I have is:
When they are paired, only the "master" detector seems to be detected in Domoticz, is this normal? If so, should the smokedetectors be unpaired, connected to Domoticz, and then have an event to trigger all the alarms in case of "PANIC" from one of the detectors?
The reason I ask is that I would very much like the detectors to be paired together so that they all beep on smoke (without being dependant on Domoticz), but I would like Domoticz to send me a message on which detector has detected smoke.
I hope some of you have some experience on this, and could help me.
Anders

Re: KD-101 (KD101) smokedetectors
It is possible to assign a unique ID to each KD101.
In RFXmngr select the Security1 tab, Type KD101 smoke detector, select a unique ID for each KD101, for example 01 01 and 01 02 and 01 03
select the Command: panic
put a KD101 in learning mode
click Transmit
Now you are able to receive the individual KD101 and also to control each KD101.
The KD101 can also be used as siren in case of burglary.

Re: KD-101 (KD101) smokedetectors
That's some interesting knowledge, did not know this
What happens when i have 3 smoke detectors, all are paired, and all are learned a unique id via RFXMngr.
When there is some detected on smoke alarm 2, will we receive the unique id of smoke alarm 2 ?
Will we also receive the 'master' sensor ? So two sensors ?
When alarm 2 is far away from the RFXtrx device, we will then probably only receive the master code ?
if thats true, then it might be a good idea to send out notifications for master + unique alarm

There is in fact no master sensor.
Normally you pair all smoke detectors so that they all have the same ID. All sensors listen for this ID and when received they start the siren.
When they all have a different ID you know which sensor has an alarm condition but the siren in the other sensors will not be activated because of the different ID.

Re: KD-101 (KD101) smokedetectors
Thanks for quick answers. This is the same conclusion I have got to, sort of.
a) If I want the smoke detectors to alert each other (and have alert on every sensor, not depentand on Domoticz), I have to pair them, and will only see the "master" ID, not each individual ID.
b) If I want to see each smoke detector (and have alert on every sensor), I have to add them in Domoticz, then set up an event to trigger panic on all of the smokedetectors.
A combination of a/b is not possible as I see it, not a big problem to use Domoticz for the "all alert", but it brings in another delay, and what if the power is out? (I have still no batterybackup on my Rpi).
And by the way, the option to use the KD-101 as burglar siren is a great idea, and nobody want to be in the house for no more than a minute with the noise of the detectors.

Yes, I've got one of these I use as an extra burglar alarm for added security. Linked to Domoticz and using geofancy it automatically arms as the last person leaves the house and disarms when the first person returns home
EDIT. Sorry, this is the alarm I have: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00A ... UTF8&psc=1

Running Domoticz on Pi3 with RFXtrx433e. LWRF power sockets and dimmer switches. Integrated my existing wirefree alarm PIRs and door contacts with domoticz. Geofencing with Pilot. Harmony Hub. Tado for Heating. Now playing with mysensors.

Re: KD-101 (KD101) smokedetectors
HI Just testing this now for myself,
I have found when I trigger "Panic" from Domoticz the smoke alarm on sounds for about 10 seconds, is there any way of setting this for longer?
Thanks
Grant

Re: KD-101 (KD101) smokedetectors
the only way is to repeat the panic command every 5 seconds.

Mark how do you switch on the KD-101. With a lua or an event?markk wrote:Yes, I've got one of these I use as an extra burglar alarm for added security. Linked to Domoticz and using geofancy it automatically arms as the last person leaves the house and disarms when the first person returns home

Hi,b_weijenberg wrote:the only way is to repeat the panic command every 5 seconds.
Sorry to answer to this old topic, but how do you achieve this with Domoticz please ?

Thanks for the tip. Now my KD-101 stays on as long as alarm siren is enabled.tmelon wrote:Look at Damien's website with step by step guide :
