Howto update dzVents without updating Domoticz

Post by Maikel76 »

Good morning,

I'm running 2020.2 stable and would like to keep running stable.
Is there a way to update dZVents from version 3.0.2 to the latest version?
I'm running;
Domoticz Version: 2020.2
Build Hash: b63341bc0
Compile Date: 2020-04-26 18:47:55
dzVents Version: 3.0.2
Python Version: 3.7.3 (default, Jul 25 2020, 13:03:44) [GCC 8.3.0]
Running on Raspbian buster

Reason is that I just found out running this ancient dzVents version is probably the reason why i have so much difficulties programming scripts without weird behavior and many functionalities not working (like withinMin())
Btw I can write/answer in Dutch too if that's more convenient
Can't find howto update anywhere, is it just updating files downloaded from Github or not that easy?

Thanks a lot in advance
Maikel

No. dzVents is fully integrated in domoticz. So if you want to use latest available dzVents you can either wait for the next stable or switch to Beta.
Debian buster, bullseye on RPI-4, Intel NUC.
dz Beta, Z-Wave, RFLink, RFXtrx433e, P1, Youless, Hue, Yeelight, Xiaomi, MQTT

Ok thanks. Is there any way to find out which is the most stable beta this moment?
I need to use it in a production system
Cheers Maikel

Latest build is stable for me but your mileage may vary depending on your installed plugins and hardware.

Just make a backup of your complete domoticz directory and subdirectories (without the backups subdir). Update to latest build, test and if OK leave it like that. if you find issues, report them and restore from your just made backup.
