Selector switch with actual switches and updates ?

I have a propblem using selector switch with harmony hub. I can easily make it work using json calls, but then i dont get state update on selector switch if i use remote control ..

What is proper way to configure selector switch to use actual devices and receive state updates ?

Why is there sub/slave devices and how to use them ?

Couldnt find answer tho, if i do selector switch with json calls, it wont get updated if i use remote..
In selector swith there should be option to directly use existing devices.
