Marley MenV 180 II Heat Recovery Unit

Hello,
I have a Marley MenV 180 Heat Recovery Unit which comes with an RF remote.
I was able to detect the remote using Lighting 4/PT2262. The buttons are On/Off, Increase Fan Speed, Decrease Fan Speed and Summer Mode.
However, I don't seem to be able to control the Unit using Domoticz without a remote.
I have a couple of questions:
1. Is Lighting 4 also transmitting from RFXCOM or only receiving?
2. How do I determine the state of the device from Domoticz ? For example the On/Off switch is a single button on the remote. I press it once to change state from On to Off or vice versa. But in the log I can see that multiple signals are sent in quick succession when i press the button once. The longer I press, the quicker the action is. I have tried a number of switch types - contact, on/off, but I don't seem to find a good way to control.
