ZWave automatic restart?

Post by GSV3Miac »

Several of my zwave devices get themselves into offline/error state after a few days (or weeks) or running. Disabling and then enabling the ZWave device sorts it (they were not really dead then) but I can't see how to do that automagically using LUA event or similar. If I restart the whole Domoticz system, that works, but is a bit drastic when only the ZWave devices (and only a few of those) are at fault.

Yes, I do regular ZWave network 'heal's, but that doesn't stop it happening.

Anyone have a solution (running on a Pi, if that matters, which I suspect it doesn't)

May not fit your needs, as the whole z-wave network is not down but you may have a look at this:

Quite strange to loose some nodes anyway. There may be a range issue (having mostly battery powered devices unable to mesh?).
There is a way to increase OZW log level, this may be better to understand what's happening and fix the root cause so the "windows" attitude (try restart... if this doesn't work, reinstall) may be avoided?

The same to me. It happens randomly to random devices. I would say ten times a year. It is for years that it is happening and I never find a solution except restarting the raspberry pi. Controller is Aeotec Z-Stick Gen5.
Healing does nothing.
A notification for a device not available would have been nice.
