Out of a lack of a better term: I get flooded with 433gHz devices. I doubt all are real, some are most likely same device registrered as different ones.
Anyway, what I would like to suggest, is to make Accept new Hardware/Devices more selective. An option to only add certain protocol, perhaps with a hardware check for what's possible to add.
kinda like this:
System
-> Accept new Hardware/Devices
--> Accept from Z-wave
--> Accept from 433 gHz
--> Accept from Zigbee
--> Accept new connected hardware (usb, RS232, Firewire, etc)
The reason I'd like to suggest this, is to enable the various protocols to update devices, with how things are now doesn't work when hitting the limit of devices. Some devices takes longer to register correctly, for some z-wave devices it's taken over half a day.
Leaving Domoticz in a Accept All state causes my setup to choke up, due to the exessive amount of devices - even failed (timeout) devices is not re-enabled to a working state. Limiting wich protocol/hardware device that can add new hardware, would make Z-wave work, without getting flooded by 433gHz devices.
Edit: spwelling, and clarifying what I ment.

Re: Selective accept new Hardware/Devices
I totally agree. This should be priority one.
Tnx in advance.

Re: Selective accept new Hardware/Devices
I do like the idea but I think to make it practical and doable, it might take some time and/or limitations.
Would it be useful already if one could select just 1 hardware module for which it is allowed to accept new devices? So you get either for 'all' hardware or for just 1 specific hardware module (Z-Wave for example, etc.)?
Creating a way to create/manage either an 'include' or 'exclude' list seems much more complicated.
What do you think?

Re: Selective accept new Hardware/Devices
It sounds perfect to me. I doubt many actually needs to include devices from more than 1 hardware module, after the initial setup is done. Keeping the include all as default is good, it makes it less complicated for beginners and when doing a clean setup.kiddigital wrote: ↑Tuesday 27 October 2020 13:30 I do like the idea but I think to make it practical and doable, it might take some time and/or limitations.
