I searched the forum for HDHomerun and got zero results however I thought I'd share as there isn't a lot of information on the HDHomerun api.
I spent more time figuring out how to get the info out of the device than actually writing the scripts so a time hack for any that have a HDHomerun device and want to add it to the Domoticz server.
If you are not familiar with HDHomerun devices - they allow wireless TV streaming to any device with an internet connection. As such I wanted to add my HDHomerun device to my Domoticz.
I thought it would be nice to show a dynamic channel icon as well instead of just a static TV.
Be warned this script will add a icon to the switch icons for every channel that has one - my cable service - that is over 500+ channels thus the need to automate this task.
Back up the www/images directory and the switch_icons.txt file just in case you want to revert to prior running.
Two scripts - run the HDHomerunIconsSimple.py to get the icons into Domoticz then copy the lua script to the scripts lua directory and other pyw script to the scripts/python directory
Read the readme as there are a couple of edits needed - idx's and IP addresses. Line numbers are called out to make it a little easier
If nothing else its an approach to supports dynamic switch icons without developing a full blown plugin with just three rather short scripts

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
