own certificate overruled?

Post by maceddy »

I got myself a new raspberry pi.

Installed domoticz, restored the database. Everything without issues.
Only thing is I cannot get my ssl certificate to work.

Whatever I do it still checks as *.domoticz.com instead of my own, which had always worked on my previous raspberry.

When I replace the file with a file with just a few ## it errors on starting domoticz on https so it is pointing to the right file.
I even tried to add a different certificate path in the domoticz.sh file in /etc/init.d

Even then it keeps on serving the original domoticz.com certificate...
I am 100% sure my certificate is right. I tried a paid one as well as a letsencrypt (new installation, so I thought i'd give it a try with LE).

I am out of options.. Any ideas?

Wait, hold on...

So you currently serve a ssl certificate for domoticz.com?

That can't be right. *.domoticz.com is probably not your own Domoticz installation but part of the public Domoticz website.
Check these howto's: https://sancla.com
