Hi,
Because my ols Blitzortung system was unfortunately shutdown during some hardware failures (see other post).
I have to check if there is an other way to made by myself an lightning sensor.
The As3935 lightning sensor got my attention, so I have hookup this sensor to an Esp8266 and insert some sketch into it to see if it's work.
At this moment it's an concept version of it, but maybe there are more programmers that can give some nice ideas to import it.
https://github.com/phoenix-blue/AS3935_ESP8266
Preinstall, made 2 dummy sensors:
- 1 counter
- 1 distance
And change the IDX numbers direct into the INO file.
After you have upload the sketch to the Esp8266 and setup the right ssid settings (webbased) it will send to the dummy sensors data when there is an lightning within an range of around the 40km..

Re: As3935 lightning sensor
Hello,
Thanks for your effort, but I get an error: An Error has occurred while mounting SPIFFS
and I have absolutely no idea how to fix this. I have even no idea what default (8266) settings are necessary to compile
this sketch. I have a NodeMCU v3.. What MHz do I use or which memory size do I select etc etc.. I have installed 8266 board index and selected
the 8266 generic type.
Google was not my friend, too many answers out there to try them all. And your documentation is kinda short..
Maybe you can "insert" your 3935 sketch (without the wifi and webpage part) in the Tasmota environment (it already has wifi/webpage/mqtt) as a library. And it works with Domoticz also. https://tasmota.github.io/docs/#/
Regards
Frank

Re: As3935 lightning sensor
Hello Phoenix,
I set up my as3935 sensor with your sketch found on this page and github. It works in the Arduino monitor and did setup the wifi. I cannot get any values in my domoticz and I am thinking it could be the domoticz port number maybe? Where can i place that?
Many thanks
