Devices Unit limitation : 255 is too low!

Hi all,
I've developed an I/O expander device connecting to Domoticz by RS485 serial bus, and I've written a python plugin to manage one or more devices attached to the serial bus. https://www.creasol.it/CreasolDomBus1
I wonder if it's possible to increase the Unit number to 64k, because having only 256 devices managed by the same plugin/protocol can be a bad limit.
For example, I'm using several of my devices to control heating/cooling/ventilation, lights, alarm sensors, ... in my house, and I'm about to finish all 256 possible devices!
Maybe it's simple to extend Unit to a higher number.
Please let me know, and congratulation to everyone has worked to make Domoticz a very nice project !!

I hope some developers have read this post, and I hope it will be easier to extend the number of devices for each hardware/protocol, because it's easy to reach 255 device in a building when you control everything (magnetic contact sensors and other alarm stuff, lights, pushbuttons, ....)

255 Units for 1 device is enough.
You can also create new devices where there is no limit, so instead of 1 switch id with 255 units, you can create 64K switches (times 255 units)
