Z-Wave LED bulbs

Post by galinette »

Hi,

I am looking to Z-Wave LED bulbs for a specific application. According to the manuals (Aeotec and Zipato, at least), these bulbs can be installed behind a regular wall switch. But do they report the On/Off state properly when activated by the light switch? Technically, this means that when switching power off, they would be able to report an "Off" state just before loosing power.

In short, I want to be able to detect On and Off state when toggling the wall switch, and control the color with a script.

Technically it means when there is no power, nothing is working, unless there is some backup power in the bulb by means of a battery or a big capacitor.
I do not think that bulbs are made that way. My Zigbee bulbs need power to act as a repeater, and I suppose that will be the same for Zwave.
