Looking for device icon with eight status "lights"

I have an application where I want to check eight different signals. I would like to display the status of these eight in one single device icon, with perhaps two rows of "traffic lights", that I can turn red if the signal is bad, and green if it is OK.
How would I be able to do this? I can write the LUA script, but have trouble defining the device icon.

I also am looking fior a kind of traffic light to indicate the status of a system, Green for ok, orange for a warning and red for error.
