How to reinstall (raspberry pi)

Post by Marque1968 »

I had a problem with Domoticz, which turned out to be a full disk. Upon reboot raspbian did not even start anymore. It was due to the log file of OpenZWave that accumulated to about 2GB. Finally I managed to remove that file and reboot the pi. I then used Pi's SD Card Copier to move all from a 8GB SD card to an 34GB SD Card. However, the system is still not responding as expected. DZVents is shooting out errors, whilst several scripts are not executing whilst they should. However now I also noticed that OpenZWave itself is also throwing errors at me:

2019-05-17 16:49:31.951 OpenZWave: Value_Added: Node: 17 (0x11), CommandClass: METER, Label: Unknown, Instance: 1
2019-05-17 16:49:31.951 Error: OpenZWave: Unhandled Meter type: Unknown, class: 0x32 (METER), NodeID: 17 (0x11), Index: 0, Instance: 1
2019-05-17 16:49:31.952 Error: OpenZWave: Value_Changed: Tried adding value, not succeeded!. Node: 17 (0x11), CommandClass: METER, Label: Unknown, Instance: 1, Index: 0
20

The hardware of openzwave still shows as "not all nodes have been polled", whilst the system is up and running for over an hour now.

I therefore think it is best to fully re-install Domoticz. However, I do not want to lose my historic data, my scripts or my device setup.

So is there a way to fully re-install the programs, but leaving the database and such as is? (currently running the latest beta. Updated today)

What I did to reinstall my domoticz on my raspberry pi.
1. Log in with WinSCP installed on windows. https://winscp.net/eng/download.php
2. Copy your domoticz map from your raspberry to somewhere on your windows.
3. Install putty so you can ssh your raspberry pi with Winscp. https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgt ... atest.html
4. Install domoticz again using the wiki https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Raspberry_Pi
5. Copy all your scripts and plugin to your new installed domoticz with WinSCP.
6. Restore your database in domoticz - settings - backup/restore. You find your database in your 'old' domoticz map/backups/hourly
7. Your done :D
