Geofencing with 2 persons? Family situation Topic is solved

Hi all, just registered and here my first post. I am using Domoticz on my synology nas and am playing around with my hue lamps etc, goes all fine..
Testing geofence now, looks OK but how to handle with a partner. My girlfriend?

If I go away and she stays at home the lights should stay remain on ofcourse and the heating normal..

I can nowhere find a how to? Installing domoticz app also on her phone with geofence on also?

But how is that to set in domoticz? Do I find 2 devices then?

I wish to prepare on a to buy thermostat etc and wish to experience geofencing with the lights etc

Hi Ger...

Its simple... Make a dummyswitch ...call it Presence...then if you are at home. Update the dummy switch to "on"... if your girlfriend is at home ..update the dummy to "on".. if you are both away..update the dummy with "Off"..

This can be done in lua or blockly..

I could provide my script as a start if you like.

I'm using 2 dummy switches and the app (ios) locative to send http to change the status of de dummy. Works great for more then 2 years. Me and my friend have their own dummy switch so I build lot of dzvents around it. Never we get back in dark house or someone leaves and other sit in a dark house because lights go off.... Everything is possible....

Thanks Hans and?.. I did successfully setup a dummy switch and found it also in blockly, that works sofar. But I will need to install the app as well on my girlfriends phone right? Then I can write blockly on both the switches, one for me and one for her right? Ofcourse her notifications must be disabled thanks guys sofar! Good weekend

The domoticz app is not needed on each device. You need the Life360 app on each device. On me domoticz server I have a script running every minute that is checking if someone is in our home circle. If there is someone in the circle the script put the dummy switch of that person to on.

The only "problem" you have with life360 is that very memeber of your circle can seen where everybody is.

Thought it was simple too, but nevertheless everything I tried to get that dummy switch working failed. I have 3 dummy switches, turning on/off if phone is present. Can get it working: switching the "Presence" dummy on as soon as 1 phone switched on and of when no phones found

Have your tried Presence detection in the wiki? link.
This works very well for me.
