Compiling on Ubuntu 18.04

Post by febalci »

Since i have been having ZWave issues with 4.9700 which includes openzwave 1.4; i decided to give a try to openzwave 1.5.

In order to accomplish that i am planning to go for compiling Domoticz on Ubuntu 18.04. I compiled domoticz on osx and rpi before. But they were not my live system. So, i have some simple questions:

1. After the compilation done, the source files and folders are still lying in domoticz folder; comparing it to .tgz domoticz installation there are too many files and folders. Is it ok to remove source files and folders after the compilaton is done? Or does 'make install' works (copying compiled files to a new folder)
2. How can i remove openzwave folder after the whole compilation is completed?
3. How do we make 'git clone https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz.git' clone only the stable release and not the beta?
4. How can we make a tgz package of the openzwave included domoticz installation, like thedistribution tgz file on the domoticz.com/downloads?

Thanks...
