Can I use the Hue bridge for a zigbee Aqara temperature sensor?

Post by sapnho »

I was wondering if it is possible to connect the Aqara temperature sensors (zigbee) to the Philips Hue bridge or if I need the Xiaomi gateway?

According to this post on the (dutch) tweakers forum, Xiaomi/Aqara implemented an own version of the zigbee protocol. This prevents it to connect to bridges of an other brand.
Debian buster, bullseye on RPI-4, Intel NUC.

It connects to Zigbee2MQTT just fine.
