I suppose there are many topics about this. I have read some ....
Here is my summary mainly based on domoticz x64 use and some dedicated on RPI, but that has to do with signal range.
Lights :
- Turn lights on 30 min. before sunset or when its dark based on dusksensor.
- Turn lights off at normal bedtime schedule (also a holiday and weekend schedule) I ga=have choosen to make no difference when at home or not, so it looks always the same
- different timers apply when recognised visitors are still present
- light shemes based on media playing. (TV, only audio, streamingbox etc)
- Motion based light in toilet and all in between rooms & stairs
- Turn off all lights when on & daylight & away (turn forgotten lights off in the morning)
- All rooms have minimum one automated light but also normal lights
- Outside lights switch on when dark en door openend and stay on till bedtime schedule
- when cooking extra light level
Heating (NEST)
- Turn heating complete off when outside > 21*C
- Prevent heating to heat when outside door is open for long time.
- Start heating based on geo distance (tasker input) when leaving work (45 minute)
- maintain always a mininumum temp in house
- signal when temp outside is cold <5*C and door open >90 sec. (signal send by telegram)
- USe for start electrical heating, to lower gas consumption.
Vent (itho with 3 speeds)
- central vent based on humidity in shower and livingroom
- central vent based on temp with different scenes based on inside temp & outside temp
- central vent to interact with heating (prevent heatloss w/o vent los)
Doorbel (Skybell + Kaku sender + traditional modified dutch "tring" mechanical bell)
- Speak when doorbell goes (tasker & android tablet / phones)
- Turn outside light up when doorbel is pressed.
- Extra signal 2th floor
- Signal telegram
Kodi
- Logging what is watched + link to IMDB
- Switch lights to movie mode when playing
- Switch lights when pause or off
Audio receiver
- switch scenes and inputs based on detected media & adjust base voldume
Chromecast audio & Logitect media server
- Keep playlist log
- Switch lights scene when player activated in room
- With LMS & Android & good speakers = sonos cheap equivalent
Camera integration with external monitoreing software
- 8 Foscam - (killed all external connections from it, be aware they are target to be hacked to i placed them in a seperate network w/o Inet acces)
- Mottion sensing by camers for all kind of purpose
- Smart alarm based on camera's
- 24 hour motion based camera images
- For PTZ d camera's : Go to preset "privacy" for recognized visitors (ARP (macadress) & Ping based on guest network)
- big wish for facerecognition, but cant get it to work
- Save extra movie when motion is detected when not at home & follow subject (external software for PTZ)
Presence
- Arp & Ping based
- Tasker geofencing & detecting what wifi is connected (Location check
)- Arp based mac adress sensing and people voice greating (some find this scary lolz)
DOmoticz
- Ip for login logging (external txt file & text sensor
- P2000 Grip (HTTP scrapingg) Grip is used to switch central vent off if needed (big fire nearby)
- Afval calendar (HTTP scraping)
- Rain (buienradar API)
- ADSB (Api)
- RIVM air quality 3 surrounding stations (Scraping)
- Lighting (counter, text sensor & voice announcing)
- Wating for public water quality api to be available.
Temp sensing

Doors :
- All doors are sensed
- I wanted to automate doorlocks, but i do not trust them enough to implement
Android With tasker used as helper for domoticz, based on internal sensor (moving or not, in house or not, Voice playing messages)
With use of tasker & Telegram & pushbullet you can send different info with different actions to and from phone.
DOmoticz app in use for ease of use for many things (Great app !)
Telegram Bot :
Make domoticz do things based on telegram commands ( use of lua & Api, no extra libs used)
Waze :
Work home and vise versa time indication in text sensor
Smartmeter :
P1 meter
Cost calculation from last bill. Daily use calculation,
current guard, switch things of if it gets critical, (avoid main fuse blow)
Solar economics calcluation
Smoke sensors, also used to switch lights at strategic places (panic lights) & used as part of smart alarm.
Probably i forgot some
All based on Lua not on dz events (sorry old school and most of it is implemented from before dz birthdate, no time to rebuild)
