Domoticz stopped updating wave thermostat values

Post by mhfrey »

I have a Raspberry Pi based Z-wave net based on a Aeotec DSA02203 Z-Stick S2. I have a problem with my Honeywell TH8320ZW1000 Touchscreen Thermostat. It has worked in the past, but recently it seems to be going to sleep as have a few other nodes. I have unplugged the thermostat from the wall and removed the coin battery, then reinstalled every thing. I only use the heating set point and temperature read back. I have been able to get the temperature set point working, but I cannot get the temperature read back working.

If I open the Z-wave control panel it shows the correct set point and read back temperatures.

If there is a solution to losing/sleeping (Domoticz shows a red header for the device and a last seen date several days to weeks in the past) nodes after not accessing them for a few weeks I would be grateful solve that problem also.

My system is running Domoticz version 4.9736.

Hopefully I have missed something simple.

Your help in getting the thermostat read back working will be greatly appreciated.

Z-wave devices can report back their sensor values periodically and/or when the value changes. Usually you can configure the device's report period and the amount a value must change before a new report is sent. So it could be that your device settings need to be changed: set the change value to 1 and your device will send a report every time the value changes. Then if you set the period to 5 or 10 minutes, this will prevent Domoticz from thinking the device is dead, even if the value doesn't change.
