Determing Domoticz controller address for ESP_Easy
G'day,
Domoticz switch tab displays myDEMO light as always being Off!
Flashed ESP_Easy and switch value can be altered and indicates correctly in the ESP_Easy Device tab.
What Host number do I enter in ESP-Easy Controllers tab?
When I edit Controllers I have the following:
Protocol: Domicz HTTP
Locate Controller: Use IP address
Controller IP: 127.0.0.1
Controller Port: 8080
Controller User: BLANK
Controller Password; BLANK
Enabled: TICKED
I thought 127.0.0.1 was Domicz controller IP, as this address is used to launch Domoticz
Can someone point me in the correct direction?

The address you entered is for 'localhost' ie the esp module. You need to enter the real ip of the domoticz system (e.g. 192.168.1.123). Also make sure that, in the settings in domoticz, you allow your local network to access domoticz without password ir enter the domoticz password in the esp settings.

Re: Determing Domoticz controller address for ESP_Easy
G'day,
The only 192 address I can find is from ESP_easy.
After resetting ESP_easy I get the following on the serial port:
INIT : Booting version: v2.0.0-dev12
INIT : Warm boot #3
FS : Mounting...
FS : Mount successful, used 76304 bytes of 957314
INIT : Free RAM:23200
INIT : I2C
INIT : SPI not enabled
WIFI : AP Mode disabled
WIFI : AP Mode ssid will be ESP_Easy_1 with address 192.168.4.1
WIFI : Connecting belkin.193 attempt #1
WIFI : Connected! IP: 192.168.2.48 (ESP_Easy_1)
EVENT: System#Boot
FS : Error while reading/writing config.dat in 926
FS : Error while reading/writing config.dat in 926
WD : Uptime 0 ConnectFailures 0 FreeMem 19928
I tried the two displayed ip's (192.168.4.1 and 192.168.2.48) but still didn't work.

Re: Determing Domoticz controller address for ESP_Easy
Sorry for being unclear: your domoticz system (the computer it runs on) has its own IP address. That's the one you need. It will be something like 192.168.1.xxx. Where does domoticz run? Did you give it a static ip address in your router? If not then you need to use its hostname (probably domoticz) rather than the ip address although I am not sure if the esp module supports that. Best to give your domoticz system a fixed IP in your router (DHCP settings).

Re: Determing Domoticz controller address for ESP_Easy
G'day,
At the command prompt did: ipconfig /all
It displayed (with a lot of other data: DHCP Server 192.168.2.1
Then in esp_easy Controller tab
Protocol: Domoticz HTTP
Locate Controller: Use IP Address
Controller IP: 192.168.2.1
Controller Port: 8080
But still could not get Domoticz to indicate esy-easy switch status.
So what am I doing wrong now?
Grant

Re: Determing Domoticz controller address for ESP_Easy
Make screenshots of all your settings in the ESP EAsy and we can tell you where you forgot something.
Please mind the 'tick'box where is say activated or enabled.
Can you please copy the url you are using to access the Domoticz page something like :
http://192.168.1.155:8080/#/Utility
Normaly the 192.168.2.1 .1 is used as your default gateway , hence I think you are using the wrong ip address..

Re: Determing Domoticz controller address for ESP_Easy
G'day once again,
When Win8.1 boots up, Domoticz is automatically launched with url 127.0.0.1:8080/#/Dashboard in the address box.
Have bmp screenshots of my esp-easy tabs, but don't know how to append them.
Looks like the picture icon only takes a url page of pictures.
Will have a look at your site help files and see if I can work the picture append procedure out.
Do not want to trouble you with things I can hunt down.

Re: Determing Domoticz controller address for ESP_Easy
G'day,
It's FIXED.
The ipconfig address for IPv4 192.168.2.24 Solved my problems.
note: Windows fire wall was already off as I am using Nortons. Turning Nortons on or off made no difference
Thankyou freijn for your help.
