PushingBox notification

Post by elythomaslumber »

Maybe this is interesting for others and the developers:

Some years ago I started sending weather forecast and other messages automtically triggered from my Raspberr Pi / Domoticz to TWITTER. Since TWITTER blocked the automatically authentification in 2014 via a script I stopped this.

Now with PushingBox (https://www.pushingbox.com/) it is possible again. PushingBox can be accessed via a Google account. After logged in a personal API can be requested.

Best way to explore the features is go to “My services”. There you should see your Google eMail service. Now click on “Add a service” and you will see whats all available.
Also further information for writing scripts e.g. is available from the “API” page.

So my proposal is to the developers here is to add “PushingBox” to the Domoticz Settings and add this as another Pushing service because it offers a lot of sub-services.

I’m using PushingBox again as a service to trigger weather forecast information from OPENWEATHERMAP. I have written a Python script which log in to Openweathermap, retreive forecast weather information from my City for the next 3, 6 and 9h. These information then is formatted in my script and then send as a TWITTER message via PushingBox once every hour (cronjob). -> https://twitter.com/SGforecast

My next idea is to trigger Twitter messages from Domoticz devices via a script (script -> PushingBox -> Twitter). But would be easier if if can be directly triggered from Domoticz if it will be implemented in future).
