Moving from Windows to Raspberry pi?

Post by binbo »

As its easier for me to sit with my laptop with Domoticz installed -- can I set everything up on my Windows 10 laptop - add all devices, create my custom blocky stuff - timers, etc..

Then when its all done export some file - and save it to Domoticz on my pi??

Thanks for the help!

This makes no sense. You access Domoticz via web browser. Accessing Domoticz hosted on your laptop vs accessing it hosted on a Pi is identical.

You’d still grab your laptop and head to http://pi.app.add.ress:8080/ in a web browser to set it all up... and use an SSH terminal (PuTTY) or VNC session from your laptop to the Pi to do any local configuration required.
Extended Domoticz homebridge-plugin for latest Homebridge - adds temp/humidity/pressure sensors, power consumption sensors, DarkSkies virtual weather station support, YouLess Meter support, general % usage support & switch/lamp status checking!

Hello.
I agree with both answers. Nevertheless, I was on windows first, and the migration was easy : copy the database domoticz.db to the pi, copy all scripts and custom themes, and once on the pi, check all interfaces : no need to remove them, but only change the path from COM to ttyUSB.

Do all copy stuff when your domoticzs are stopped of course !
