Multiple updates when using the webinterface

Hello,

I have made a hardware plugin for Schneiders IHC system (Home automation). The plugin subscribes to event changes from the IHC controller (another piece of hardware).
When a physical switch is pressed or a lamp is turned on or off, the plugin updates the status of the lamp in Domoticz - it works great.

But when the lamp is turned on or off from the web interface, the status of the lamp is both updated by Domoticz, and by the hardware plugin resulting in two device updates in the log, like this:
2018-01-14 17:32:06.600 (ihc) Light/Switch (Lounge)
2018-01-14 17:32:06.622 (ihc) Light/Switch (Lounge)

What is the best way to handle this? Is it possible to prevent the webinterface updating device status for some devices?
