Automatic playback of light on/off when not at home

Post by Ankan »

The domoticz server log all on and off when you are at home.
Shouldn't it be possible to write a script that replay a normal day on and off activities when you are away to make it look like you are at home?

Have someone already done this?

I would not do it that way because every day would be the same, use a different timerplan and use some timed actions combined with randomization.
When away, just activate this plan and you are done.

Just play your 'normal' at-home setup, to simulate an at-home situation.
For lights your normal setup should already contain some 'switch on lights 30-minutes before sunset' triggers.
Then add a script to switch of lights automatically and randomly when not at home and lights are on at some moment in the evening.
Or add some random timers to switch of randomly at some time in the evening (after or around normal bedtime).
