I have Domoticz installed under Ubuntu on an Intel NUC, so not on a pi - there is therefore no 'pi' user on my system by default. In my domoticz.sh file I have edited out pi and replaced it by my own username. However, when I do a './updatebeta' that file is overwritten by a new domoticz.sh that just contains pi as the user again. Is there a way to define a different user than pi that will somehow survive across updates? I don't see a username entry in /etc/domoticz/setupVars.conf...
If I try and update to the latest beta via the web interface instead of via ./updatebeta it *looks* like it completes the update without any errors but the version stays unchanged (even after browser cache flush). Could these two things be related?
