Convert Pressure mat into Reed Switch ?

Wanted to use Vision ZD2102-5 to report when someone steps on/off the pressure mat. Something that works well with Fibaro Door sensor (http://blog.aceshigh.net/2014/01/fibaro ... to-heaven/)

Now with FGK-10x being discontinued, wanted to get this working with Vision ZD2102-5 in the external switch mode that it supports. But I don't receive anything when I step on/off the mat.

On the page 2 of vision ZD2102-5's manual it seems to expect the switch type to be of 'reed' type. http://www.vesternet.com/downloads/dl/f ... manual.pdf

Any ideas on what needs to be done to connect/convert the pressure mat's contact into a reed switch ? Any help or advise is most appreciated!
