Sharing what I did to get text notifications working in Domoticz as it took a little work.
I want to get text messages because I’m old and don’t get a lot of texts, and so I check them when to come in lol.
I tried to use clickatell for texting, but after setting the account up, I couldn’t get it setup in Domoticz. I think there may be a version issue, where clickatell upgraded. But the real killer was I could send texts by using HTTP in my browser, but it wasn’t reliable, they didn’t come through all the time. I thought this was because I was in the test (sandbox) environment, so I made an account in the production environment, but it said I needed 2 way texting for the US. I looked, and 2 way texting would cost more to setup, so I gave up on clickatell.
I tried pushover because it works for android and iphone, and it worked fine. Only drawback to pushover is it’s a special app, and it cost money for each user for the app, after a trial period. But its pretty low cost, and looks nice.
So then I searched, and found that most cell providers have an email you can send to, and it will convert to a text to your phone.
There is a list here of email addresses here.

You just put the cell number in the sending to email address as shown in the link.
So, I tried to use my normal gmail account to send this email through domoticz, but that didn’t work either . Then I figured out that I have 2 way authentication setup for my email (for security), and I don’t think domoticz supports that. So I created a new gmail account just for sending notifications.
With my new gmail account, domoticz sends the email fine, and it shows up as a text on my phone.
So now I get a text message if my garage door is open for more than 10 minutes
