Asterisk integration

Would it be feasible to add as hardware a "sip client" to make some interaction with phones possible?
Like in case of alarm, ring a phone, or if the postman rings the bell, and the status is away, transfer audio from the doorbell to the telephone...etc...

Ringing a phone from an Alarm should not be that hard.
Your doorbel must be able to talk SIP, otherwise there is no communication device.
Stripping an ip phone?

I probably did not explain correctly.
Is there a way for Domoticz to speak to an Asterisk server? Maybe initiate a call on some kind of event...etc?

Domoticz does not have a voice path. So you do require a piece of hardware capable doing sip ( mic / speaker ).
Softhpone with with hardware of a mic and a speaker ?

If you have an asterisk , strip a phone and make the mic and speaker of the phone next to the doorbel its possible to have
Domoticz initating the call on behave of the sip phone.

b.t.w. there are camera's with a sip client. only the ones I know need to 'register' to a server.

The part i'm interested it's only in initiating calls from domoticz....even with no audio....but i don't know if it's possible. i'm not interested in the actual voice call....i just need domoticz to dial a number on the asterisk server to activate for example a redirection.....

Asterisk has a dir called agi

There you can fire .php commands. So yes, you can connect to the asterisk and make a phone call an other phone.

Please remember you ALWAYS have to dial from a phone, hence I asked you. You can't dial 'from virtual/nothing' phone

I must have some old php script somewhere , were I did some experiments. Please let me know if you are interested.

oh yes....i would for sure be interested.
what you mean that you have to dial from a phone / can't dial from virtual/nothing.

To me it is enough to just start a call automatically for example when domoticz detect a movement with the movement sensor, to activate a call for example to my cell phone. i don't care about the audio. if domoticz using php can connect to a sip server, i guess it's possible to also start a call.
anyway if you can point me in some direction with your files i will be very grateful!
